Painting is such a large part of my life that it affects every aspect of it. The urge to express ideas can become obsessive, because there is always more to learn in pursuit of clarity. The process is sometimes hard but the result is very rewarding.
My training in Graphic Design at John Moores University, Liverpool has been a huge influence on the structure and composition of my work. It has also provided knowledge of print, essential for reproducing my paintings.
Texture and the luminosity of thin washes, is what fascinates me most, whether I am painting buildings in watercolour or more abstract subjects in acrylic - it is a joy to experiment with the flow of one colour into another.
In recent years, I have had a growing number of exhibitions and sales of prints, whilst also working on commissions. I hope you enjoy my paintings.
I am a member of the Cotswold Craftsmen and exhibit with them regularly at their shows - see a list of shows at www.cotswold-craftsmen.org. My work is also available at their gallery in Nailsworth.
